SEO vs. PPC Options

SEO stands for search engine optimization, which focuses on using keywords that readers use to find content. These optimized words are found in the page titles, the content itself, links, and meta-tags.

PPC, known as pay-per-click, is a strategy using relevant keywords that can be bid on to promote and drive traffic to a site. Pay-per-click directly refers to what advertisers are charged whenever someone clicks on their advertisements. Both strategies encourage a call to action to gain higher rankings through encouraging visits to their website(s).

Purpose of SEO and PPC

SEO and PPC are used to drive traffic to your site and increase your websites ranking. When using SEO and PPC as a way to drive traffic to your site you should think further about understanding the keywords, and how those keywords will be used. Thinking about the basic questions such as what, when, how, why, where, and whom.

Set a Focused Goal

The goal in mind should focus on what you are trying to do with the keywords and what would define success with those keywords. In using SEO, the goal would need to focus on understanding the topic of the keyword. Using PPC the goal would need to be on choosing the best keywords that are being bid on. In addition, the keywords would have to have the ability to make the most amount of money for the CPC (cost-per-click) campaign. The primary goal with PPC is finding the most relevant keywords that can easily be bid on, and drive traffic to your site. For SEO the main goal is to use the same keywords that the majority of people will use to search out and find your content. The keywords chosen should generate a high quality score. Keywords used within an SEO campaign would have to be the primary foundation.

Call to Action (CTA)

After the user gets to your site further the call to action by offering your users more information. This could be a toll-free phone number to call, a free download of a guide, or an option to request a demo to learn more information. It is important to make this call to action an easy option for interested readers. The website itself must be easy to use, navigate and find whatever it is they need.

Both SEO and PPC offer users the ability to bring in an abundant amount of traffic to their website or websites. Both are tools that use keyword optimization to promote their content. SEO tends to be a less expensive option compared to PPC, but both offer effective results that provide users with exactly what they need to promote their websites.
